This is a fast-paced, classic 8-Day Moroccan Imperial Circuit that travels south-to-north across the country, starting in Casablanca and concluding in Marrakech. • A full day dedicated to the Erg Chebbi region, including a 4*4 tour, Gnawa music, sharing tea with nomads, and an iconic camel trek to a desert camp for sunset.
  • Exploring the medina of Fes and the magnificent fortified village of Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou.
  • Walking the towering walls of the Todra Gorge, viewing the formations in the Dades Valley, and traversing the High Atlas via the Tizi N’Tichka pass.

Itinerary

Day 1: Casablanca to Fes – Imperial Cities North

Your Moroccan adventure begins with a collection from Casablanca airport or your accommodation. We journey north to Morocco’s capital, Rabat, to explore key landmarks like the historic Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. The route then continues to the imperial city of Meknes before concluding in Fes, where you will settle into your traditional Riad for the evening.

Day 2: Guided Tour of Fes – The Ancient Medina

After breakfast, an expert local guide will lead you on an immersive journey into Fes el-Bali, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Wind through its labyrinthine alleys to see the Royal Palace gates, the historic Mellah (Jewish Quarter), and intricate theological colleges. You will view the famous Chouara Tanneries from a terrace and immerse yourself in the vibrant energy of the traditional souks before returning to your Riad.

Day 3: Fes to Merzouga – Atlas Crossing

The adventure pushes southward towards the Sahara Desert. We travel through Ifrane, “Morocco’s Switzerland,” and stop in the Cedar Forest near Azrou to see Barbary macaques. The landscape then shifts dramatically as we pass through the picturesque Ziz Valley, a vast oasis of palm groves, before reaching Merzouga, the gateway to the Erg Chebbi dunes, for the night.

Day 4: Merzouga – 4*4 Desert Tour and Camel Trek

Today is devoted to exploring the captivating landscapes around Erg Chebbi by 4*4. Visit a seasonal lake and Khamlia village for a performance of spiritual Gnawa music. A special highlight is sharing tea with a nomadic Berber family. In the afternoon, embark on a camel caravan into the heart of the dunes to witness a breathtaking sunset before arriving at your desert camp for a traditional dinner under the stars.

Day 5: Merzouga to Dades Valley – Market and Gorges

Greet the day with a spectacular Sahara sunrise. After breakfast, you will return to the edge of the desert. We then depart for the Dades Valley, pausing to explore the bustling souk in Rissani if it’s a market day. The journey continues to the stunning Todra Gorge for a walk between its towering canyon walls before proceeding to the Dades Valley for the night.

Day 6: Dades Valley to Marrakech – Kasbahs and High Atlas

Our path follows the legendary “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs” through the lush Skoura Oasis. The day’s highlight is the Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and famed film location. After exploring, you will begin the spectacular drive across the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi N’Tichka pass, arriving at your accommodation in Marrakech in the evening.

Day 7: Guided Tour of Marrakech – The Red City

A local guide will lead an in-depth tour of the “Red City.” Explore the historic Medina, visiting the Koutoubia Mosque, the Saadian Tombs, and the Bahia Palace. You’ll also experience the lively energy of Djemaa el Fna square and its surrounding souks. The tour includes a visit to the beautiful Majorelle Garden. Overnight in Marrakech.
