Your adventure starts with a morning pick-up from your accommodation in Marrakech. The day begins with a scenic drive, crossing the High Atlas Mountains through the breathtaking Tizi n’Tichka Pass. The road offers stunning views and glimpses of traditional Berber villages. Your first major stop is at the legendary Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and famed filming location for many Hollywood productions. After exploring this ancient ksar and enjoying lunch, you will continue through the Route of a Thousand Kasbahs and the Valley of the Roses, eventually arriving at the dramatic Dades Gorge. You will spend the evening at a hotel nestled within the gorge, where dinner will be served.
After breakfast at your hotel, you will depart for the Todra Gorge, a magnificent canyon known for its towering limestone cliffs. Here, you can take a leisurely walk along the river at the base of the gorge. Following this visit, the landscape will gradually transform as you drive towards the desert. Upon reaching the gateway to the dunes in Merzouga, you will prepare for the highlight of the tour: a camel trek into the heart of the Erg Chebbi dunes. You will ride your camel to a secluded Berber desert camp, pausing along the way to watch a spectacular sunset over the sands. At the camp, a traditional Moroccan dinner awaits, followed by Berber drums and music around a campfire.
On your final day, we recommend an early rise to witness the unforgettable spectacle of a Sahara sunrise. After this, you will camel trek back to the village of Merzouga for a hearty breakfast. The remainder of the day is dedicated to the long but scenic journey back to Marrakech. You will retrace your route through the dramatic landscapes, with stops for lunch and rest. You will be dropped off at your accommodation in Marrakech in the evening, marking the end of your desert adventure.
